Blame it on Vancouver
You stepped out looking like that?
Fall into Autumn
Well, it is here. The birth of a new season. The time when you start to put those flip-flops (yes, I said flip-flops. Sue me. I enjoy the comfort of letting my feet breathe) boat shoes and short shorts back into the closet and start thinking about cool weather ahead. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m a sun slut like most out there, and would love to have a permanent tan throughout the entire year, but there’s something about layering and dressing up. In fact, I’ve committed to wearing a tie everyday in the fall. That doesn’t mean that I’ll wear one to bed; but there’s a certain air of regal nature in dressing up. You feel different. You command respect. All in your clothes. So, with fall approaching I’m going to be posting the top 10 Fall essentials. The first is a Tweed Blazer. I was searching through GQ’s database and found this great picture circa 2006. What does this tell you? Style, especially classics, never fade. And as I get older I want to focus less on trends and more on style. The only thing that really needs to change is the suspenders on the jeans (hello, fad) and his surfer dude hair. I found a great fitting one at H&M for 149 dollars; another at Holt’s, from Mr. Paul Smith for about 1100 dollars more. The point is, depending on your budget you can find a blazer that will double as a coat in Vancouver’s mild winters and will make you look all the more stylish, especially if you get the other 9 essentials.
